After reading true crime stories for more than a decade, this one sticks with me.
I don't know if it is the fact that the mother was clearly trying to make a living to support her child, or if her death feels unfair after absorbing all of the details.
I often reflect on what her life might have been like if she lived to see the year 2000, and where he son could be at the moment. And also what memories her and her son could have made together if her life wasn't taken.
The most overwhelming feeling throughout this story is knowing that humans are capable of doing this to each other

This is one of those instances in which I wonder it's ok to leave these people alive? It's not best for society to just execute them? They're unlikely to redeem themselves and to me keeping them imprisoned is just a waste of the resources that could actually be used to improve life in orphanages and trying to avoid this all along. Then I remember that most politicians don't really want to fix society...

Haunting case indeed…. Another haunting and chilling one that makes you wonder how can people be capable of doing such horrible things to a helpless person is the tragic case of Junko Furuta… a heartbreaking case from Japan in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Do be warned though, it’s not an easy case as it also involves prolonged torture :/

Props to the narrator for trying to the best of his ability to pronounce the Cantonese names. I don't speak the language but I know a lot of people who do and have been learning Mandarin for years and always cringe at how some American/Western Youtubers pronounce Chinese names, or pretty much most Asian names not familiar to them or that are not anime related Japanese names (even Japanese names are a struggle for some...). Cantonese names are especially difficult for English speakers to get but he really did good.
