I have been amazed at the a Mattison hate going on, judging him on numbers from his back up role. People don’t understand how the running back position works. It takes a little time to get rolling. It’s difficult to excel with just a few touches. Many Running backs get better as the game progresses. The defense gets tired while the RB gets a rhythm. When you look at Mattisons numbers for when he starts they are great. Like he said volume is huge especially on good offenses. I am so glad I was drafting the hell out of him while he was going at RB 30 while cook was still a Viking. Also got Mixon around RB 28 over and over when the rumors he would be released were circulating. I know mixon is inefficient and gets stuffed on the 1 over and over but he gets so many touches in the red zone because the Bengals offense is so amazing that it’s extremely difficult for Mixon to not stay in the RB 2 range. It kind of feels like his floor.

Genuine question, why is Mattison not higher? They have no running back depth behind him and have stated they have confidence in him going forward. Plus one of the top offenses in the NFL. Wouldn’t we expect him to land in a Dalvin Cook like role?

Gibbs over under is 580 rush yards. It feels like a steal although I can see him being a huge success playing a more Ekeler, Kamara type role. I can see him only having 550 rush yards for 4 TDs and still having an amazing season with 55 receptions for 700 yards and 7 TDs.
