Water and Sewage arent complicated, but there are some rules to follow. Here they are!

With all the New Features, its time to go over a new 'How to get started' tutorial. No Realistic Mode this time, just pure structure and building and making it work, just to speed everything up.

This is a simple series to get you started.

If you have any questions, please ask, and I will add a video to the Series that explains it in detail.

My tutorials and how to guides are aimed at new players, who may have skipped the in game tutorial or found issue with the same. This game has many hidden features, and I aim to show you all of them.

WR:SR is an amazing sandbox city/republic builder, that allows you to control all aspects of your new country, from citizens happiness, health, education to production chains, vehicle and resource production, import export. You can do all this by truck, train, ship, and in the near future plane. There are a million ways to make your republic your own and that’s what we will do.

I just started this channel, and I hope you enjoy the content. I’m also active on:

If you read all the way to here, I appreciate your commitment and support and hope you are enjoying what I am creating.

All the best!

Great, concise, well spoken video! I have 11 hours and I'm barely keeping up. I have always wanted a city builder with this level of complexity, and I had no idea it was right here. Like the sewage thing. Quite realistic, in a simple way. In the States, those "sewage pumps" are called lift stations. It is why it's so important you don't flush diapers, "flushable wipes, " feminine products, etc. A water tower can supply positive pressure to homes. But homes cannot supply positive pressure to the sewage system. It has to flow down hill. And eventually, you run out of down, so you have to pump it up to start over. And inorganic stuff can get stuck in the lifting pumps. Anyway... maybe I'll have some citizens by 20 hours. :D

Farms - for ground water - are the biggest source of polution to this day. Im from Czech Republic and as former socialist country we had huge problems with polluted ground water because of field fertilization. In general - people tend to forget, but communist goverment was one of the biggest polluters we ever had here, "green policies" were pretty much non-existent. In general you can build a well anywhere but to get semi clean water it has to be either from mountains (without agro industry) or you need to use chemical (mostly chlorine). People tend to forget that anything the water touched before reaching undwater reservoirs stays in it - like for example cow poop from farm land :D

Thank you very much! I will soon begin to supply water to my huge republic. I hope I don't fall apart while building systems in every city at the same time.

thanks. Nice summary. I just started to learn the game and this helps a lot. Playing on realistic with your tip with more start money and reasonable angry people :D Water is my topic for today so I have to fix what I messed up yesterday :))

I don't think it was explicitly mentioned, but the input water quality also affects how much total water a water treatment plant can output, i.e., you can't get max flow from the treatment plant if you're doing heavy treatment.

I don't know the exact numbers, but the difference in total flow from bringing the 77ish% from a surface intake to 99% compared to bringing low 90s percent from a well is significant and potentially city-killing if you don't catch it in time.

I was overthinking and overcomplicating the water and sewage. At start, just a technical with small garbage truck(s) is needed. Build garbage collection points later to simplify it.
And export garbage across the border. Same with water and sewage. Collection points for sewage and water, and let trucks from technical import/export from border.
Later on you can become more self sufficient:

Burn the trash in incinerator - make sure to have a garbage truck with big container on it to free up the incinerator plant otherwise it will get clogged up. This big trash truck goes to border, unfortunately.
Sewage export at first, then unload at sewage unloading - which is connected to sewage pump - then to sewage discharge.
To dump the sewage - just create an artificial lake - just dig until you hit water. The hard part is massaging the terrain to plop down the sewage
Love this game.

Yes, it does help thank you. I've been putting off dealing with water treatment and sewage and now my customs house is choked up

Today's class! I wish I had this passion to learn when it comes to my job. 😂

Apparently this is a part 2? Title led me to believe we'd be starting at zero with the water, as an ABSOLUTE beginner. Will come back to this when I've learned more.

still building my first city, St. petersburg Map South near Shushary Customs, now after everything is set and almost finished end 1932, i found out that the sewage ipie to dump it into the river in the North will eat quadrillions of trucks in ressources and an enourmous 11k workdays of labour 🙈 could it be that it works better, to draw the line from the output into river backwards and elevate pipe in the process? seems to lower the needs like 80% but i dont know, height meter of terrain showing by building this infrastructure would be a thing

so i start thinking about zsug a sewage station, which unfortunately is not covered here, but why this building has 2 in and 2 out? i get the 2 in, but what are the outs for?

crop fields actually do cause groundwater pollution through the fertilizer and pesticides used on the fields, so the fields causing pollution is realistic.
runoff of fertilizer and pesticides working its way out into the Baltic Sea is one of the primary contributing causes for a growing ecological deadzone, which is a very big, growing and dire ecological disaster in the process of happening, countries with coastline to the Baltic Sea is coordinating and working together to regulate and reduce runoff and pollutions that contribute to the deadzone's groth and working together to try and restore oxygen levels in the Baltic Sea.

the pressure in the pipes is wird though as there should always be pressure in the pipe even if the destination is full, what you should see is a decrease in flow, pressure and flow is 2 entierly different things.

Always a big thanks for your great video's on this game, but I can't have my sewage working properly. The land is flat, 5 meters height, and I have a few sewage points, but they are at the same height? Do I need to place pumps after each collection point to put up the pressure, or do I need landscaping to heighten the land first?

Thanks for these, they've been a really helpful way to get into the game following the in game tutorial & campaign. Are there any resources on how to expand from this pretty well established starting town? Should I just be duplicating the same kind of template? (maybe covered in a video of yours I've not gotten to yet).

Is flow rate actually affected by the difference in elevation between the start and the end? Or does the game just check for which is higher up?

Not sure what's wrong with my sewage trucks, they go to the sewage tanks which has like 3, 000 gallons in it, my truck can hold something like 2, 100 gal. But it only stays to fill up like 10 gal and leaves...

do you really need a water tower? I can directly pump to the substations right? What would be the benefit for using the tower?
