Since so many of you have found my previous videos on makeup artistry helpful, I decided to start an entire series on talking about the ins and outs of business as it relates to the industry. Thank you for this! I pretty much did everything you said except charge for hotel and the holiday charge (just cause I’ve never come across this). But that’s a great idea! I’ll be adding a luxury bridal package as well, but would you mind doing a demo as to how you do the mini facial for brides/bridal party?

I've been doing makeup for special occasions and bridal since 2014 but it was more of a hobby and mainly for family and friends. $75-$100 for bridal makeup?? Its crazy how different pricing is based on where you live, and of course you have to include your experience as well. I live about 35min outside of San Francisco, I charge $125 for bridesmaids (which includes lashes) or $150 if they want mink lashes, and then I have 2 package options for my brides at either $200 (standard pkg - includes lashes) or $250 (luxury pkg - includes high end skin care prep and mink lashes) . I require a 50% deposit, I have a travel fee if the location is more than 30 miles away from me and then if the bride wants me to stay until after the ceremony and/or stay during the duration of the reception for any needed touch ups.

This is very helpful. I had a hard time trying to figure this out. I do have a question tho. Can you do a video about how to put your portfolio together. And also, when you do your brides makeup, do you ask the photographer for photos of the bride for your portfolio and is that an extra cost to you if they give you the photos?

Do you do only bridal makeup? Or do you do special event, prom, dance, etc makeup? Just curious what I should charge for those. Same as a bridesmaid?

I love your content so much! You're so helpful. I have to say though I really want to become a MUA, and I know this sounds stupid but the only thing putting me of is what if a client has an allergic reaction to a product I use. How would I handle that, as there are so many people with sensitive skin nowadays and not everyone knows exactly what they are allergic/sensitive to. I would hate to ruin someone's day like that. I don't know if I'm overthinking lol
