I'd bet Danielle Smith is responsible for an increase in the number of Alberta Liberal MPs.

These guys are so right leaning it's hard to watch. Now they're playing the victim card. Poor Alberta.

I was one of those “coveted” swing voters but there was no way I was voting Liberal in this election because we can’t afford them. Then Mark Carney muddied the waters - his financial acumen is, theoretically, the one thing that could sway me to vote Liberal (I genuinely dislike Poilievre’s public persona and worry about his obvious lack of gravitas). But yesterday’s Liberal housing announcement triggered me. Here we go again, more big government when the country needs less, far less. So I’m back to being a swing voter. Canada needs to be a place where people can live and work where they want without worrying if they can find a doctor or afford a home. The only way that will happen is if, as a country, we reel in government spending.

I am from Nova Scotia, and it is not just Alberta that is surprised. You are right; the liberals do not deserve a 4th term. A lot of understand, and we want the energy sector.

To compare Pierre to Trump is insulting, how can we go for another 4 years with liberal policies. Carney was Trudeau’s advisor for 5 years and really pushing Carbon Tax zero emissions, which hurts our pipe lines going across our country. I’m voting PP I want a change in Canada. I want someone to fight against Trumps issues. Trump is hoping for Carney to win ( why )??

A Liberal majority would be too bitter to contemplate.

I am Albertan born and raised.

I see the Liberals polling higher now in Alberta than at any point in my life. So what’s the complaint here?

I remember growing up, the old grocer had a habit of putting his thumb on the scales. He got caught and went broke. He learned the hard way about being honest. Get your thumb off the scales

I believe you are understating and underestimating the negative impactive of MAGA links to Poilievre. It is not just tariffs but the style and decision making process of the MAGA movement that is adhering to the Conservatives. MAGA decisions around cabinet choices, DOGE driven cuts, repudiation of science and climate information, the repudiation of DEI, etc. contribute mightily to the concerns about Poilievre.

True story- I called my PC candidates office this morning and asked if I would be able to put up a BIG Liberal sign out front on the boulevard.

I sympathize with Ryan Hasman's worries about Alberta's representation through a Liberal party in power.
Canadians must comprehend that the present Canadian economy is basically financed by oil and natural gas exports. The climate change people, the Indigenous people, the Province of Quebec, the anti-pipeline crowd… all the beneficiaries of Federal funding must understand any financial support they receive is possible because of export income from the sale of Canadian oil and natural gas. Resistance to development and exploitation of fossil resources must be overcome for the greater prosperity of Canada.
With Government leadership and a motivated population, Canada’s economy will improve rapidly. When sufficient manufacturing industry exists in Canada to support the economy, resistance to fossil development may be appropriate, but not now.

Poilievre has a problem with women. He appeals to the manosphere. I don’t know why people have forgotten when he had his picture taken with the dangerous far right group, Diagolon. The group attend his rallies. In 2022 he tried to distance himself from the group when he pressed charges against them because of sexual assault against his wife. But, the charges were dropped. Last year, he was in Nova Scotia when he saw them, approached them and said, “ Everyone agrees with you “, and had his picture taken with them. I don’t know why people aren’t talking about this. Also, about his appalling conduct in Parliament last year.

how does Carney's conflicts regarding Brookfield and his holdings not resonate with everyday Canadians?

Some thoughts following Ryan Hastman comments:
If he's presenting Poilievre as being the Alberta representative as he grew up in Alberta, Carney was raised in Edmonton (born in Northwest Territories).
While Oil is the #1 export for Canada, the overall contribution to Canada's GDP is often ignored: Ontario is the #1 contributor at 38%, Quebec is #2 at 20% and Alberta is #3 at %15%.
Canada has always been a democracy, where each citizen has an equal vote. Alberta is 11.52% of the population of Canada and influence. The region Ryan refered to as the Laurentian triangle/corridor is the region around the St. Lawrence that includes southern Ontario and southern Quebec. This region contains more than half the population of Canada and consequently more than half the ridings. Is he suggesting that 11% of the population should have more power than 61%?
Note that "voices from the West", BC and Alberta's voters are shifting: Dec. 2024 Alberta polled: 61% Conservative, 8% Liberal. Current Alberta polling: 55% Conservative, 30% Liberal. Alberta Conservative vote down 6% since December.
Dec. 2024 BC polled: 54% Conservative, 14% Liberal. Current BC polling: 39% Conservative, 43% Liberal. BC Conservative vote down 15% since December.

Uh. Mr Bricker, Canada’s population is NOT = to # of voters. So, NO, there are not 41 Million voters x 30%, = 12.3 Million CPC voters. It’s not even half of that.

Some asked this, what does the world want from Canada? It’s our natural resources. They all have their own manufacturing or can get it cheaper than we can sell it to them. Time to stop impoverishing us… we need to prosper.

It would be interesting if you could get Sam Cooper on your Podcast. Carney's CCP connection can no longer be ignored.
