Rainier 'warm up'

80lbs. 10,000 feet. 4600 elevation gain. Off the couch, living at sea level. #notrecommended
Needed to test myself for something hard so this was a good test piece. Imagine if I applied myself, trained, and didn't work all the time! Stay tuned for this fall's projects.

That’s… 70 pounds more than my Muir summit pack. Every step felt like 4 steps of work, and watched guides race each other to the top. You are all built differently in the head

I carried 48 lbs of RO water about 5km home from a grocery store once. I loaded it up in an aluminium framed hiking pack. Most of the route was gentle downhill with a couple short climbs but no significant elevation changes. Took about 1.5-2 hours I think as I was also walking my dog, but being 130lbs that was an awful experience. My spine was hurting the next day. I can’t imagine people to haul 100lb packs up mountains. Just unfathomable.

The best part being sunchips is really the saddest thing I've heard. Don't get me wrong, i like a sunchip every once in a while but I have never been excited about them.

Quick question, what's the brand of that scale you were using to weigh the gear? I have been looking for a nice compact lifting scale but all I can find is the more common style which isnt idea compared to the one you are using😊💚

Wow why this much gear? Seems like an almost alpine climb, in the alps I barely ever take more than 10-15kg
