I like how Annie actually provides knowledgeable information that a lot of other youtubers won't tell you or will try to sell you a course in order to learn. All great advice! This has been a topic that I have been struggling with since getting serious about my channel. I am not fond of being stuck to a tight niche because there is a lot that interests me, albeit within a smaller scope, and I hate the idea of having to be stuck creating videos on one topic for ever and ever. Personally, I have been working towards expanding the topics I cover on my channel and trying to find new ways to engage the viewer because I really want to create something that people will find entertaining and helpful. It is an even bigger thing for me because I struggle with Asperger's and so finding the right thing to say in person can be a chore, let alone in front of a camera. This whole YouTube thing has really helped me cope though and given me goals and things to work towards (improving video quality and editing as well as other aspects).

Wow Annie...the fact that you uploaded this yesterday is absolutely mindblowing. Such crazy and perfect timing. Recently I've been questioning what kind of specific content I should continue making. The things that you said in the first half really made sense to me, but I still questioned myself "Yes exactly! But...this is what I've been doing all along, why hasn't anything picked up?" I’ve been saying this to my community of creators for a very long time time but not many people listen. I’ve been battered by some big YouTubers just for talking opposite to the idea of niche channels.
Niches are good but….. Your personal opinion and brand is what you can sell and sell and sell again and grow under that umbrella…
