My co-worker was in a metal band in the late 80's- early 90's. The band had a lot of underground buzz and was scheduled to meet with a major label exec. They were told by their manager and a scout for the label that the meeting was to make them an offer. Needless to say they were excited.
The problem? Between the day the meeting was scheduled and the actual day of the meeting an album called Nevermind was released. During the meeting the executive said to them "I know we set this meeting to sign you guys but I'm sorry; we're going to have to pass. We love you but we just wish you sounded more like Nirvana..."

To this day you can see the rage/disappointment/sadness behind his eyes when a Nirvana song is played on the radio.

I see it pretty much everyday, at the beginning of class people are talking, laughing, and general having a good time, that then instantly ends when the teacher puts the lesson on the board
