RIP Eddie Butler - the most poetic & atmospheric creating sports commentator in history bar none 😢

WRU budget obviously went on lasers and pyrotechnics

The whole build up to this game was Wales experienced team would despatch England. I couldn’t believe how it actually unfolded.

Man with the mic ‘how about you guys just wait outside..’
Mike Brown ‘stand in the cold, ey! You wanna make us stand in the cold?’

I find it interesting that when Wales play cat and mouse like this, along with 2008 against New Zealand in response to the Haka, they lose. Whilst when England do it, like this and against Ireland in 2003 vs Ireland when Johnson refused to move, they win.

As a French, it's the best entrance in rugby history. I don't know why Wales don't do such epic entrance anymore...

I remember that game and was mental when the players came out

Proved nothing except that mind games are pointless, just get on with the game

There were lots of fights amongst the Welsh fans that night.
The police report for the match was "interesting".

As a Welshman who was there that day, honestly I now look back on this and I'm pleased England came away with the win.

This whole business about making them wait in the tunnel, hoping they'd then be made to wait in the cold outside is unsportsmanlike in my view.
Just quite petty. No idea whose idea it was, but it backfired superbly.

England were under real pressure here. They lost heavily two years ago, and also saw Wales lift the trophy. Cardiff can be a noisy and hostile environment (especially when England are visiting). They were hosting the RWC later the same year and Wales were in their pool. Then this nonsense - coming out to the tunnel at the agreed time, only to be made to wait.

It was all against them, but they soaked it up and won. If youre a rugby fan, you can't not have respect for that.

Right at the start the commentator gets it wrong. "The Millennium Stadium on natch might..." After that, things could only take a turn for the worse.

"The show that the WRU is putting on is outstanding". Not aged well.

Wales’ biggest error was to not keep their plans quiet. Some idiot let slip that they were going to leave England out here watching footage of their loss the year before. And then they say the English are arrogant.

Not sure why Wales were not ready and breached pre match agreement. England went out on the understanding they would not be kept waiting more than a minute. Referee or IRFU post match panel should have penalised Wales captain.

Always a nasty atmospher at an England match. Not much love lost here.

A poor second half from Wales in this game, meant we forfeited a Grand Slam.

More interesting than watching a modern scrum.
