What it's Like to Hitchhike in Bosnia

Some friendly old man picked us up and drove us from the Croatia/Bosnia border to Sarajevo... We went because we had to find my friends missing passport. What an experience!

As a Bosnian who now lives in America I can tell you that all of the older generations such as this driver is still holding grudge over other former countries of yugoslavia and a war. That's just not a good way to move forward. His opinion here is based on his own view and belief. I'd be happy if it came in one way through your ear went out the other.

Not multi national but multi confessional (different religions). Sadly Bosnian Catholic and Orthodox Christians became (were convinced that they're) Croats and Serbs and thus, Bosnia "became" multi national. Bosnian Jews always stayed true to Bosnia!!

Muslims didn't come to live in Bosnia 500 years ago, but the local Bosniaks became Muslims 600 years ago.On the other hand, Jews did come to Bosnia, mostly from Spain and some from Germany.

And I mean, nobody is really moving to bosnia. It's more like every new generation is moving out of Bosnia to richer countries with no sense of nice nationalism.
