Slackware Linux OpenRC install guide, AKA Big brain Slackware user bends init system to his will.
Показать описание
ATTENTION ALL GALAXY BRAIN SLACKWARE LINUX USERS! This is a Slackware Linux OpenRC install guide that even the newest Slackware Linux users can follow and have a working OpenRC Slackware in no time! In case you didn't know, OpenRC is available and easy to install as an addition to the sysvinit style init system on Slackware Linux. OpenRC is the default init system for Gentoo, Artix, Alpine, and many more Linux distributions. OpenRC is initially started by Slackware's init system, then takes over the boot process, and it maintains compatibility with the default init system. Think of it more as a bolt on upgrade rather than a complete replacement. It's simple, user-friendly, and, IMO, the most based of all the init systems. Today, I'm going to show you how exactly to install and configure OpenRC and its services in Slackware Linux.
Anyway, I'm just doing some Slackware Linux videos for fun, nothing serious. I just really enjoy Slackware, and I want it to be as accessible to new users as possible while still retaining the "hardcore", UNIX like feel. How do you do that? By educating the new guys instead of dumbing down the OS, which is what sets Slackware above almost all other distros. That being said, I'm not by any means an expert, and there is still plenty for me to learn... which is really quite exciting I think. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the video!
