Countless Windows 11 have complained of their computers experiencing shutdown problems immediately after they have been upgraded to Windows 10. The most common of the shutdown problems that Windows 10 may bring to any computer that is updated to it is the computer restarting instead of shutting down whenever the user shuts it down.

The only way for Windows 10 users suffering from this problem to actually turn their computers off is to unplug them from their power supplies, remove their batteries (for laptops) or hold down their power buttons for 3-10 seconds (for desktop computers).

The same on windows XP. Go to system, advanced on tab & untick the box. If that didn’t work it’s because the files are overlapping. Use disc defragmenter to sort this out, then if you like use disc cleanup.

My laptop shutdown when i restart it. How could i solve this?
I am not able to install windows updates nor able to update bios because when it restarts automatically during the process. Its turns off and then don't turn on

I just amended this comment: This solution worked for one boot cycle then the problem came back. I have already turned off Fast Boot in windows, and also in the HP BIOS. I have wiped the HDD and reinstalled, nothing helps. I have now updated to Windows 10 Pro 64Bit 22H2 with all updates, and no help.
