‘That Could Have Been My Daughter...’: Ujjain Rape Accused’s Father Seeks Death Penalty For His Son

The Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested an auto-rickshaw driver, Bharat Soni, for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Ujjain. Speaking to India Today TV, Raju Soni, the father of the accused, called for severe punishment for those found guilty of such heinous acts.

Raju Soni stated, "If my child had been in the victim's place, I would have said the same thing. Those who commit such crimes do not deserve to live. Whether it's my child or anyone else's, anyone who commits such a crime should be hanged or shot."

Me and my wife went running to the shop with him to give him back the stuff he took and asked our son to get on the knees and appologise to the owner. it breaks my heart to see his parent sobbing. and the fact that it is not for his own son but for the girl whom his son has wronged, this is how a father should be. most fathers would have gone everywhere saying that its not my son, but the way he says " it could have been my daughter" shows how much his heart aches for the victim. the boy does not deserve such a father. he is being punished just because of his son. he might not be educated, but, the society needs more men like him.
