“Trump has said many outrageous things himself in this campaign and it doesn’t seem to harm him.”

Trump’s “bizarre” rally at Madison Square Gardens in New York last night is unlikely to harm his election chances, despite “racist” comments by warmup act Tony Hinchcliffe, says Andrew Neil.

This rhetoric is preposterous and should be unacceptable for everyone in the US.

Stop apologising for the actual racists and fascists ... 😡

The racism and fascism are a feature, not a bug, for Trump's supporters. They don't care that he's demonstrably incompetent. He hates who they hate and that's all that matters.

Do not underestimate the woman vote, minority vote, the college educated vote and the motivated youth vote. Moderate Republicans and many independents find Trump and MAGA cultists despicable.

This report seems very much to be an apology for the condemned criminal trump. I am disgusted with the recent reporting of Times Radio - where have your former standards gone!

Won't hurt him??? Are you delusional? His campaign ended last night.

I, too, thought that it would not hurt him, but then again, I heard the audience actually sigh. This might have been either a bridge too far or a calculated risk aimed at inciting revolt in more racist parts of the country. He may be preparing for insurgency once again.

It is the final straw and it will stick…you don’t know how it feels.🤬

Too many things I just heard Doug say here are the complete opposite of the truth.

The Trump campaign never apologises. If this won’t hurt him, why did they apologise?

This man spoke of the welfare of his "children" and "grandchildren several times - I trust he sat them in front of the big screen on Sunday evening for a couple of hours of grand inspiration. Uncensored, or course... Then again, perhaps this is the kind of talk his "children and grandchildren" are accustomed to hearing in their family home and so no censorship was required.

Amazing and very scary times. If American voters are bright then how on earth is trump even on the ticket.

Dear Mr. MACKINNON, who am I to take away your dreams, not even the wet ones, so just keep dreaming.
But please promise to think back after November 5, and reflect what these statements made of you. Cheers from Europe.

a rich man doesn’t have to tell you he’s rich
a smart man doesn’t have to tell you he’s smart and a tough man doesn’t have to tell you he’s tough
Trump says he’s rich, smart and tough
What does that tell you?

It's almost like they have a wager on who could come up with the most offensive and unacceptable insults possible aimed at people who have dark complexions. All of their ideas appear to have the same wager on who can create the most destructive and irresponsible action possible to cause chaos in society while doing it in the cruelest most sadistic way. Something that can cause the most pain and suffering. It appears JD Vance had good odds on being the one who has tried to win that wager. I do not exactly understand how this is a winning strategy or leads to anything beneficial to them other than satisfying a sadistic itch. I suspect it may be some kind of lashing out for years and years of suppressed religious righteousness. Instead of experiencing life spontaneously and freely, they lived in a sheltered world that revolved around suppression and restriction, which appears to cause them to resent those liberated from such suppression. I'm curious if Trumps' overlord in Russia approves of the latest display.

What people need to understand about the bullying, infantile and grossly irresponsible comments from Trump and his on-stage supporters last night is that the true intent of their comments is to give permission to Trump's followers to imitate and parrot the language, ultimately giving voice to their own worst instincts. But this behavior is only part of a spectrum, one that goes goes well beyond infantile name-calling: Trump also wants to give his followers permission to indulge their worst and most violent instincts, the sort we saw on Jan 6th. All of this - from name calling to calling supporters out to invade and sack the Capitol - is part of the same spectrum of "permission." If Trump can get them to buy into the language of insult and threat, he can get them to buy into the implication of violence behind it - and ultimately act on it.

There are approx 400k Puerto Ricans in Pennsylvania, the State which will likely decide the election, even a change of a few hundred votes / or people deciding not to vote at all could seal the deal.
