The issue isn't general lag, the real issue is how Activision has their servers configured, more specifically, their net coding (lag comp). Their use of lag comp is supposed to create a more balanced experience where everyone has as many wins as they do losses, some more so than others and vice versa. What it actually does, (or has been doing for years) is that it creates a false sense of perspective which really inhibits the player from experiencing the game in ''real time". Of course, lag will always be present, but with their use of lag comp it amplifies that experience even more, experiences may vary. A good example of this would be if I was sneaking up on a guy, I have the drop on the target. If you were to engage the target, unaware to your presence, they can actually react even if you've begun to fire at them (in close proximity of course). Pretty much any time you fire a couple of rounds, and the target turns around and kills you instead. Another common example is when you anticipate a target coming around a corner, you're ready and just as you begin to fire, you're dead before the target is even seen in frame.

This has been an issue as far back as the original MW2 around the time the original creators of CoD got the boot from Activision.

This needs to end and the only way it ends, is if we all stop buying CoD. It won't happen because the majority of the player base is a new generation of gamers that just mindlessly accepts the experience as is. The same kind of people that mindlessly play the game chasing any kill they can lay their eyes on instead of methodically engaging targets.

Ridiculous tbh. Second cod straight where I’ve bought it and instantly can’t play. $74 down the drain. My PC is decent too. Ryzen 7, 3070, 32gb Ram, all games installed on ssd, separate from my windows ssd. Great internet speeds, im on ethernet. I’ve updated literally every driver in my PC, down to the fucking Realtek audio jack drivers. I’ve reinstalled the game countless times, tried all additional command line arguments. Nothing works. I can literally play 10x more intensive games than fucking weak ass call of duty but for some reason it can’t run. Ridiculous

ive got a 4080 and playin at 2k but always get a lag spike near the begining of each map for a bout 3 seconds?

when im playing zombies or multiplayer i go most of the game with no lag. prefect ping but i get packet burst while having 0 packet loss somehow and i just get kicked mid game

I am still lagging, sometimes almost a full fucking second of lag.... Using a beast of a pc, with a wired cable, low latency, no packet loss, not downloading anything, no other programs running (which shouldn't be an issue with this pc anyway). What is the problem? I don't get it.

I’m xbx is wired and have great internet and still lags. In warzone the first 5 minutes of the game players are dropping like flys it’s crazy

I have 10 latency and I’m still lagging, surely this can’t be an internet issue? My download speed is like 600mps! Is it something to do with the servers maybe? (Pc user)

If you use a cordless headset don't have your router too close to the receptor on your console/pc. The wifi can actually interfere with it

I dont got lag but sometimes when i run or do something it is delayed or it just keeps doing like if i shoot it will spam until it needs to reload i dont have this problem with any other game too

i was fine until about 2-3 days ago. now its just unplayable.. reset router. restarted ps5 and its just horrible.

Check your settings, my Ps5 has always been wired but when I reset my router it changed it to WiFi

I have pretty good internet 0% packet loss and 20-40ms latency. I’m lagging every game where I can’t even make basic movements. Can’t even enjoy the game

Dont mayter when the AI makes us lag and how they have it set up its not working how they ment. Either way its the dumbest thing to add into the game
