When you receive your StraightBox™ clear aligner treatment starter kit, you will find it also contains an aligner removal tool, a set of aligner chewies, and an aligner file. These are aligner accessories that will help your treatment go according to plan and as smoothly as possible (pun intended!).
Wondering how to use aligner chewies? Your aligner wear & care manual includes detailed aligner chewies instructions as they are important in ensuring correct aligner seating and also serve as movement stimulation aids. This helps speed up and optimise your tooth movement, so using these dental aligner seaters 3 times a day for 3 minutes each is important. Keep watching for a closeup aligner chewies tutorial.
To facilitate aligner removal, you will receive a handy little aligner removal hook. In the first few days of wearing new invisible aligners, it can be a little tricky to remove them, which is where this handy aligner removal tool comes in, allowing you to carefully remove your clear aligners without damaging them. Remember to always use it bilaterally, never pulling only from one side or the front as this can damage your aligners!
The aligner file is also contained in your aligner kit, and it will help you enhance comfort and adjust any aligner edges that may be slightly uncomfortable. Straight Teeth Direct invisible aligners are most effective by maximising grip and contact, but depending on your individual gum sensitivity or thickness, you may find them more or less comfortable to begin with. Using the aligner smoothing file, carefully remove sharp edges with the red side before smoothing them out with the white side. Remember to never remove more than the gum line, nor change the shape of the aligner or the areas that touch the teeth, as this will affect tooth movement and negatively impact your clear aligner treatment!
