Atticus is the Roman soldier who begins to believe at the cross. The fact that he saw Jesus walk on water kinda seals the deal for me 🤣

The Pontius Pilate actor looks much like the younger sculptures of Pilate, and the way he acts does fit the sadistic and cold nature of Pilate written about by Pliny the Younger. I think it's a great portrayal of Pilate.

Dallas picked the right actor to portray Pilot. From a plot standpoint it's good to have a younger Pilot who's facing a significant learning curve and doesn't want to make any mistakes as the Emperors representative. The relationship between Pilot and Atticus is similar to the relationship in the military between a newly commissioned 2nd lieutenant and a seasoned senior Non commissioned Officer. The senior NCO has his age and a lifetime of experience to draw on and therefore is a well placed advisor to his younger inexperienced leader.

This Pilate was hard to get used to at first because of past conditioning but it really makes sense and It is plausible. I like having a different take.

I like Pontus Pilate’s aristocratic “sneakiness.” He’s the consummate politician, disappointed with his post in Jerusalem. He’s under the gun and can’t get away with much more according to the rest of the Roman authorities above him. He’s a narcissist—perfectly depicted. I commend the actor for his excellent portrayal of Pilate!
