Want to tell engaging stories? Avoid the 'and then' trap!

If you are telling a story YOU MUST avoid the and thenandthenandthen story.

Im sure you have heard this one before. The story with 8, 10, 15 things…. Events…..
that happened along the way. When you are telling a story, you MUST avoid reciting the timeline of the experience as if it were one of those timeline calendars that run down an office hallway.

Instead, I want you to focus on a moment. ONE MOMENT on that andthenandthenandthen timeline and tell JUST that story and why IT mattered. People will be able to picture the story better AND you will avoid frustrating them with your verbosity.
