Saw this live tonight. Blur were the first band that got me into rock music. Although I've shifted more into the metal direction, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to finally see them live, which I didn't think would happen with the high ticket prices. Luckily I found £15 tickets a couple of days ago! Witnessing Song 2 played live, bass guitar ripping through the whole stadium was a spiritual experience and something I'll remember for the rest of my life!!!

I couldn't get a ticket!! I was outside 😢 but my daughter & niece did!! They are still buzzing and would have happily gone Sunday too.

I was a brief fan of a few grunge bands (Mudhoney, Tad), liked Nirvana but didn't really appreciate them til they released the original mixes w/o the 'LA' gloss (Vig, Albini original mixes). You can tell this was Damon's big FU to grunge invading the UK with the opening/predominant guitar riff and the title, which punked how one grunge song sounded just like the others for 90% of the bands. (No, I don't include Soundgarden and Foo Fighters cos they were simply ROCK bands. PJam was a mix of popish metal and hard folk; the Pink Floyd of grunge). I liked Blur but much more preferred Pulp and the triphop groups (Attack and Portishead).

I’m surprised everyone talks about Blur but not Gorillaz when honestly, Gorillaz made more of an impact musically. Same singer. Just better music. Love Blur, but you can easily tell he really found himself with Gorillaz.
