Thanks for the ideas. I think I will start cabbage seeds, they overwintered well last year. Not sure if you have tried these, but I plant field peas during the 4th of July week and they usually give me a good harvest. Also some folks recommend planting yellow squash now. I have not had success with planting squash this late.

I started some brassicas myself on the weekend and a 2nd round of zucchini, basil and sunflowers on the 4th . Carrots will be started near the end of the month. Looks like you could use some shade cloth Jules. 😀 Are you going to do a quick cover crop in the garlic bed between now and Oct? Maybe some buckwheat? Keeps the soil active and provide some nutrients.
