The Coronavirus outbreak is here. Hand washing is more important than ever! As people are stocking up on supplies for their apocalypse bunkers, hand soap and hand sanitizer are flying off of store shelves.
In this video, I will show you how to make homemade hand sanitizer. There are a lot of hand sanitizer recipes floating around the internet that are fake news! CDC recommends a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, so it is very important to use the correct ingredient proportions to make sure your sanitizer is effective. I accidentally bought Isopropyl Alcohol 70%, but this recipe calls for 91%. When followed exactly, this recipe produces a hand sanitizer with a 60.66% alcohol content and meets the CDC recommendation. If your chemistry skills fail you like mine did, making hand sanitizer will at least cure your boredom for about 10 minutes :)
Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe
2/3 cup Isopropyl Alcohol 91%
1/3 cup Aloe Vera Gel
Optional:
5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
5 drops Vitamin E Oil
Add together and mix well.
WARNING: There is no proof that this hand sanitizer will protect you against COVID-19.
