Oh my goodness, I was SO close!! From the first second of the video, the surroundings, the clues... I was SURE it was my childhood home of Cyprus! EVERYTHING you said pointed to it, and it LOOKED so much like Cyprus. I was split between Cyprus, southern Turkey, or the Greek island of Crete. Until you said the super high cost of living and high population density. I know Malta is a wonderful place as well, so I'm wishing you a very pleasant stay, as one of your early (under 500) subscribers! And, when the pandemic allows, I hope you visit my childhood country -- I'd love to see how you like it! Agia Napa and other seaside resort towns are to die for, and the many little villages are absolutely charming!

I am a little behind on your videos...good thing today is a slow day at work! When the video began I though you were in Cyprus but got Malta on your second clue when you said you were going into the Schengen zone. Way back when I was a kid in the 80s my older sister had 4 college friends from Malta stay at our house. I had never heard of Malta (and remember trying to find it on my globe) and was so fascinated that they lived on this tiny island nation. It was so exotic! So Malta has been on my travel list for a long time. I am really curious to hear about your experience there in February because we are really interested in Malta as a winter/early spring slow travel destination.

I like the idea of choosing a small city, with nature nearby. This way you can have amenities and natural beauty too.

Nice Island, I was there a few time and it is nice but not so much Green and very crowded with buildings ... but so nice historical places and streets in valetta or at the island Gozo ... wish you a good time and warm greetings from Germany

I knew my guess was right, Malta! The views or sceneries are very familiar. We were there for 3 weeks before Christmas last 2019 and enjoyed the walks. Gozo is particularly charming and Comino island is so idyllic for peaceful and secluded walks during winter. The walk from salt pans in Zebbug to dwejra bay is magical. Enjoy the food and nightlife in St Julian.
