Contrary to what you say, this is their tourer and as such, should have decent wind protection.

I have to smile when I hear anybody saying "Too much tech...nanny features" etc. When I was very young, back in the 1970s, we had a motorcycle meet-up every August & truly ancient stuff would turn up. One was a pre-WW1 Norton (I think) that had fuel mixture & spark advance controls. The equally ancient owner could be heard lambasting "modern bikes" & how riders don't need auto-advance & carburetors that give the correct fuel/air ratio at all times "if they know how to ride....what're you going to do when it breaks?" Etc etc etc.

I’d stick with the gt, to many gimmick’s ( driving aids ) taking over the enjoyment if riding the bike, been riding 51 years, cruise control ( you learn to stop every 100 miles approx, top up bike, have a break ) used to doing 500 mile trips in a day . Keeping your distance etc, you’ve got eyes to keep your distance ( defensive driving technique), car pulls into the gap in front, slow down . Abs and traction control is all you need, go on advanced driving courses etc 😊😊👍👍👍

Great bike. I`m a owner of GT+ since 3 weeks, coming from 2016 Tracer. The handling of GT+ is awsome and create a big smile in my face at every km. The dashbord is fantastic and operation is intuitive. The ACC is a nice feature, nice for me, but it´s a decision by yourself. I´m happy to have bought this bike.

I already have a 900GT and I'm totally fine with the bike I have so for me there is no point in upgrading to the current spec but if Yamaha launched a Tracer 1000 based on the CP4 I'd be first in line. Now that would be a smashing bike with all this tech!

Personally, I have the Tracer 9 GT, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The engine is an absolute delight, and the versatility it offers is unbeatable. Incredibly fun.

Loved the quick comparison with how the Triumph tiger 900 engine is different. That is really valuable to know 👍👍

I think the Multistrada V4S cruise is tied into the lean angle sensor — it applies a slowing of the bike when leaned to a certain degree to ensure traction. This is most likely why the Tracer slowed on cruise in the corners. Of course it may also could have been because you were bunched up in corners, being on a press ride and all. Anyway, always a good review, Motobob.
👍🏼

I've just done 500 miles over a little under two weeks, mix of moorland an motorway riding on mt09 GT (no cruise control), it's a very easy bike to ride and comfy too, plenty of grunt and a joy to ride on the twisty roads, it's pretty tall and heavy to drag around your garage or car park but other than that 👍👍😃😃😉

I have a 2022 Tracer 9 GT, it is a brilliant motorcycle. Before I made the purchase I did research and looked at the Tiger 900 GT Pro, Kaw SX1000 GT, Suz GSX1000 GT+, BMW F900, Suzuki VStrom, and The. Kaw Versus. The Kaw SX1000 and Suzuki GSX+ are great motorcycle but the insurance costs are very high. From a performance standpoint, I think the Tracer is better. The one motorcycle that I was torn between is the Tiger 900 GT Pro. I think Triumph makes one of the best motorcycles on the market. The Tiger 900 is nicely equipped. I ended up choosing the Tracer 9GT. In reality, I am not going to be doing the " Long Way Around" trips anytime soon. The performance, safety features, cruise, heated grips, and pillion bags as standard plus yamaha dependability you can't go wrong. It is a great sport cruiser that you can crush a lot of miles on it.

Gr8 to see adaptive cruise in an affordable bike ! which is a godsend in the busy motorways in UK. Anything that reduces fatigues is a safety feature. Not a fan of the front end .

I'm not at the stage of getting a touring bike yet, but starting to consider it. I think this is an all round great package, except for the upright seating position. I suffer from periodic lower back pain. Sitting upright on an office chair, dining chair or car seat causes too much compression and I struggle to stand up and walk around afterwards. Riding my GSXR = no back pain

Stunning bike! But I still don’t understand why Yamaha couldn’t design a proper headlight unit, an actual touring screen and a comfortable seat for the GT+

Thanks for another quality post MB🤘

I really like the look of this Yam bar that last minute afterthought tacked on brake master reservoir boggles me no end.

The non plus version of the Tracer 9GT would appeal, if they got rid of the Dame Edna / Wall-E / Groucho Marx dashboard LCD and had this one instead.
I'd read some stuff about combined braking on the 2023 Tracer 9GT+, and from reading it, it didn't appeal. I'd need a long road test, doubt I'm going to get one of those !

I would be very interested in a Tracer 9SP - a Super sports tourer!

Once I saw the Tracer 9 GT overalll styliing and addtional technology, it just didn't work for me and I hurried and found a new previous model Tracer 900 GT. I love that bike.

I have the Tracer 9GT. It's a great bike - I don't mind the twin TFTs, but the windscreen is awful. I've tried two alternatives and still not completely happy. The bottom line is that even though I love the bike the finish is poor quality. Despite cleaning and ACF50 some components look bad after just one winter. Yamaha wouldn't entertain my warranty claim (dealer supported) and said they can't take into account road salt. Well, my five year old Triumph was still like new. Unacceptable. As for the GT+, I think it's far too expensive and definitely not worth the extra money.

I just wish Yamaha would stop screwing around and throw the MT10 engine in this platform. The triple is okay but a crossplane I4 would be a prefect match for this sports tourer.
