The police don't know the law but have been given an authority that is based on their knowledge of the law. Everyday they are expected to use their critical thinking skills and knowledge of the law to do their jobs and fail from their lack of education and comprehension of the laws they enforce. Even with total access to the statutes in the palm of their hands, they fail to comprehend the law and the constitution. So a regular citizen has to become a lawyer to protect themselves from their negligence.
