Doubt they would go with 28gb, as anyone using it for AI would see it as not enough of a memory improvement over the 4090 to upgrade. And with Nvidia seeing itself as an AI company now I'd be surprised if they missed the opportunity to give 4090 owners FOMO that an early 32gb card release would give them.

Following your logic, the 5080 should be 20GB/320bit, 5070Ti @16GB/256bit, 5070 @12GB/192bit, 5060Ti @10GB/160bit, 5060 @8GB/128bit. Obviously, this would be in a World that made sense. Nvidia's World does NOT.

When a 5090 is equal to a 6070 TI in 2026-27 I will get a new graphics card for my computer as long as it is 799 or less. Until then I'm on my 1070 TI. It better have like 48GB VRAM or I will hold out till 7070 launches.

I have serious doubts that the 5090 will be the same price if the specs are to be believed. It's the top tier card they can price it higher and it will still probably sell. Which is a shame cause if it did stick to the same price I would probably bought it. But I'm guessing it will get a $200 bump in price, I do think the 5080 will stay below $1000 though, $899 would make sense...$999 more likely. A lot of money for a 16gb card when games are already starting to push the limits...
Doesn't matter of the 5080 actually has better ray tracing than the 4090 if vram is limiting it
