Aussie traveller here. You’re coming to Australia at the height of summer. As you travel north it will be more and more humid, and SE Asia will be even more humid. Loose fitting cotton clothes will be the most comfortable. Pack hydration tablets as well. Ditch anything you need to iron ( looking at you, linen) and anything synthetic. Dresses are a million times more comfy in the heat than tops and bottoms.
Wet bags are a lovely idea but take up so much room…use zip lock food bags instead. They’re super versatile.

Just confirming we have shops in NZ and you can buy all those things when you need them, to stop you lugging them around. We have lots of competition between Oz and NZ but I'll be kind and say I believe they have shops in Oz enjoy your trip and you'll so regret cutting your NZ stint

Loved the packing video and for a first time backpacker you definitely packed a lot lighter than me the first time I backpacked!

If you do any backpacking trips in the future, you could look into reusable period products such as period pants or washable liners, and a menstrual cup. Will save you so much space when you’re travelling. Also it’ll be interesting to see how much of the makeup you use (although this is coming from a non makeup wearer so it’s easy for me to say 😂)

You will be able to buy lots of products in Australia/New Zealand. Think about what you NEED to carry and what you can buy there.

Bring some S shaped hooks! They are very convenient when there are not enough hooks in bathrooms or wherever you want to hang something so it dries or doesn't touch the floor

Hello Paige, I know you are all grown up and way past your university days, but I would just love to pop in and express my heartfelt gratitude towards you and your channel.
I began watching your videos when I was in middle school and you were in your first year at Cambridge University, Jesus College. You really inspired me to pursue Physical Natural Sciences and set myself up for a career in physics/astrophysics. Fast forward to 2025, I just got an offer saying I have been accepted as a student at Cambridge to read Physical Natural Sciences.

Paige, have a great summer in Australia and New Zealand! You are lucky that you are travelling to warm destinations. I am stuck in Ottawa, Canada in this freezing cold and icy winter weather where I have to wear boots, coats, snow pants, hats, scarves, and gloves and sweaters which I hate. I cannot even travel outside Canada anymore because my sister and brother-in-law will not let me have a Credit Card because I got scammed in Mexico at the airport with the timeshares, jewelry, and face creams which I did not need two years ago.

there are shops on this side of the world too, so i wouldnt worry about bringing stuff you can buy in the shop here as needed (i.e. sanitary pads) xD

Charity shops are a good option if you need cold clothes for a short period- cheaper and just drop them back off at a charity shop when you don’t need them anymore
