Perception vs. Reality 💪 #shorts #fitness

Perfection doesn’t exist. And I’m not just talking about self image. I’m talking about public perception too.

When my body became my billboard (as more eyes fell upon my YouTube channel), the narrative around it changed to match the story people wanted to tell.

A short timeline:

1. 2009: Started posting workout videos.

2. Early 2010s: “She’s too fat to be a trainer.”

3. Body positive movement.

4. “So inspirational that someone with a body like hers can be a trainer.”

5. 2019: Went on my 90 day journey to get in the best shape of my life - mentally and physically.

6. “She’s a bad role model. A complete hypocrite. She’s mentally disordered. A shame to all women!!!!”

7. Lost weight. Found myself.

8. 2020’s: “She’s looks so weak and skinny.”

I want to be clear that over the past 12 years, way more positive has happened than negative, but as a human, and an emotional one, it’s not easy to ignore what’s being said about me. So unfortunately, it takes up space in my brain and this timeline shows those moments that impacted me in that way.

Anyway, I’m always trying to work on not caring what people have to say because they don’t know my story, my journey, or my body. They have no right to strip me of my happiness or invalidate my strength.

So yeah… what you see isn’t always what you get… especially If you ain’t seeing clearly.

Yes, it's really sad that our ideal of beauty is constantly changing and that you're never good enough. So the most important thing is not to listen to people who judge you on your body. You are perfect the way you are love you

It’s he double standard: we’re either too skinny, or too fat for men 😩

one reason i actually started working out was for safety, when youre smaller people assume they can say and do anything to you, because “what are you going to do when youre so small?”

your strong, dont let those people get to you, your worth it just believe in yourself i trust you in this 💞 just because your skinny dosen’t mean your weak, just because your fat doesn’t mean you wont get friends, feel confident in yourself, be yourself I believe in you!! stay strong 💗💗

litterally me- I’m always the smallest compared to all my friends and the “skinniest” which i personally don’t see but I have dont gymnastics for 10 years and I recently started track and cross country so whenever we do something active i enjoy seeing the looks on people’s faces when i keep going past the limit . tysm for the motivation 💕💕💕

I know this isn’t really related to fitness but could you maybe do a hair routine? Just like what you do when you wash your hair, and how you keep it looking gorgeous in general! Love ur vids btw 🥰

“Body goals” change literally every year, so basically, no matter what you do, you will never have the “ideal body” based on beauty standards. So what I want to say is: love your body, love yourself, and embrace what you look like! 🫶🏼

I feel so identified! I'm very skinny and I dance for a hobby and my thigh muscles look like that too! And they always call me fragile when they see me because I'm skinny :') But actually I'm stronger than I love your videos! The truth is there are many situations like mine that make us feel bad about ourselves, but you respond to those bad comments for us and that gives us a lot of confidence because we don't feel alone <3 Thank you very much!

Hi! I recently went to target and I saw your brand in an entire aisle! I just want to say I’ve been subbed and following you for a long time now and it’s been absolute joy growing with you! Thanks for taking time to read this if you even see it :)

I adore the fact that you work on solving issues with sportswear personally I have one with sportsbras. My problem is that my ribcage to bust ratio is insane so I can never get something that fits both areas without issues, if it fits my ribs i spill out of the sides and top, but if it fits my bust I fall out the bottom. I'd love to see something for those of us w/ extremely small ribcages but larger busts. Personally my ribcage is 28" around so anything that fits is going to be beyond tiny for my chest 💚💚💚💚💚💚

Thats the thing about shorts!!! I'm so small, plus only 5'0, that there's a big gap in the edges, and doesn't define what I do got. I absolutely LOVE the legging shorts you've made just for that reason! Not only great for workouts but amazing to actually feel great in everyday shorts too!! 🙌
