Deus Ex: Mankind Divided PC - easy Lag fix on Windows

FIX: Go to game options - mouse settings and set sensitivity to zero.

I purchased Deus Ex - Mankind Divided and was very disappointed by its performance on my PC. It has i7-4700MQ and Quadro K3100m with 4 gigs of ram + 32 gigs of system ram.

Most games I play run perfectly on high settings. No matter what setting I had the game on it seemed to lag, low, medium or high.

Somewhere I found this fix, I almost didn't bother trying it as it seemed to ridiculous but if you set the mouse sensitivity to zero (IN GAME), this will drastically improve game play performance / smoothness.

This is due to the fact that mouse acceleration is enabled by default, causing a very unsmooth experience when playing.

You can now use windows to set the mouse speed for the game.

I am now playing the game on medium / high settings mix with no issues at all.

Before this I was struggling on low settings.

Six years on, this video is a lifesaver. Just spent 30 minutes playing around with MSAA, texture detail, resolution, cloth physics etc. Nothing fixed the microstuttering. Change the mouse settings based on this recommendation = 👌

If I change my mouse setting to zero on both I turn like in slow motion, Any other ideas? Even on medium, I struggle. i76700K, 16gb memory and rx480 factory OC, win10 on ssd.

I tried this but it didn't work for me, then I had a further look for fixes and found if you turn on exclusive full screen, that didn't work either, then experimenting I turn Vsync to triple buffering, I had it on double, that fixed it and it is now smooth, fps still jump between 48-60 randomly but gameplay is smooth, I'm using a GTX 970 settings on high with anisotrophic x16, bare in mind I still have mouse smoothing off so maybe a combination of all of this may help.

The game has terrible optimization. I have the same framerate on low and ultra.

Going to try this and see if it eliminates the mouse lag for me; it feels like I'm aiming on a grid as even moving slightly causes the pointer to jump. REALLY hard to aim like that. Just Cause 2 had this problem as well when the framerate was less than 60.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Tray

GPU - Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB Nitro+ SE

Ram - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB DDR4-3200MHz

The game is installed on a M.2 SSD - Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB

I've searched for ways to play the game smoothly with no shattering or lag back in 2017-2018 when I first bought the game on Steam and I couldn't find one. I though it was my old PC the reason I couldn't play it but it turns out that wasn't it. I still can't play the game with my new one. Which can only mean one thing : The game is just badly optimized...

Games I've played on this PC on Ultra Settings without any problems at all :

GTA V
Red Dead Redemption 2
Call of Duty - Black Ops 3, WWII, Modern Warfare.
Doom 2016
Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Wildlands
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Metro Exodus
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
Gears 5
The Division 2
Need for Speed Heat, Payback
Borderlands 3
Far Cry 5, New Dawn
Wolfenstein The New Order, The New Colossus
Control.

All of them on Ultra with maxed FPS.

Doesn't work unfortunately. Just makes the mouse really slow.

Guys, i just found a solution by browsing the web forums.

before launching the game,
1.Go to Options and put a check on Exclusive fullscreen and/or Dx 12 (DX12 is optional if you have DX12 on your system especially if your running Windows10)
2. Turn OFF the MSAA
3. you can now adjust the graphics to max settings (except MSAA)
depending on your Hardware
4. Play and enjoy!

before i discovered the solution, i tried adjusting all of the graphical settings and i couldn't get any FPS especially the Mouse input lag/delayed movement of mouse.

A10-6800k
R9 380 4GB OC edition
1TB seagate firecuda
8GB Gskill Ram
Windows 10 DX12

hope that helps!
thank you and happy playing everyone!

buy a Radeon card. It was made by AMD and never optimized for Nvidia. Even my GTX 1080 lags a barley gets 65fps one very high settings and no MSAA. MSAA makes it 14-18fps and is only to be used with multiple cards in your rig
