I struggle a long time after I lost my son to cancer, he pass when he was 12, the day before he go, he told me he's happy and lucky to have me as his mom, despite the odds that child never lost his spirits, to this day i still buys a funfetti cakes on his birthday, i hated the taste but it was his favourite, somehow it feels comforting, like he's there with me, i miss him everyday.

i know this isn't like the other comments, but I'm 5 days clean from fentanyl after a 6 year long addiction. It made me feel like a better person, it made me able to communicate. It helped me sleep for once. It made me happy. and even though it destroyed my life in every and each aspect, the smell of it even almost killed my pet from a lung infection, i do grieve it. I miss it. I love it whole heartedly and it makes me feel loved and that's the bitch of addiction.

I think of my mother when i hear this song. She loved us all and kept us together. When she lost her bout with cancer, everyone became distant and disconnected. I survive by remembering her as much as i can and starting my own family. Her granddaughter looks almost like her. She will know about her from when i tell her stories.
