This movie was an instant and eternal classic. I'm 53 and watched this movie so many times in the movie theater when it came out. I've owned this movie on VHS, DVD and Blu Ray. And when the next new, shiny format comes out, I'll buy it on that as well.

If I heard correctly, the original members of this cast condemned the remake. Writer, director, producer, all the surviving cast members.... every one of them forsook the remake. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lee estate also condemned the remake.

The film, the comic, the music, it was all excellent. Timeless even. I appreciate the dark ambience, the 90's mix between old and new. The gritty, unkind, and general gloom the film has is unique.
