Hi Guys!😇

So I saw a few edits (that were used in this video) going around on Instagram and being shared by fellow cheerleaders and the videos (at the start saying cheer is not a sport) made me really mad and annoyed because cheerleading is by far the hardest and most dangerous sport I have ever done. I don’t think it’s fair that uneducated people who know nothing about cheer, can sit there and say it’s not a sport because the definition of sport is: “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.” And this is exactly what cheerleading is 🙌🏼

So I put together this little edit using some fails and sad clips from accounts on Instagram (credited below) and some really amazing & inspiring videos as well (also credited below). This edit goes to show how hard cheerleading actually is and proves that it is a sport.

Omfg, “I think anyone can run around and dance for 2 1/2 minutes” this just shows that he has no idea what cheerleading is. That’s like saying “anyone can run around a field with a ball” that’s not what football is about, I know that, but it’s pretty similar to what you said about cheerleading..

Even if you don’t think it’s a sport, it is still insanely hard and takes REAL talent. Cheer isn’t about sideline, it’s about stunting, tumbling, and performing. Cheer is one of the hardest and dangerous activities you can do if you’re doing it for real.

Even though im not a cheerleader, it is my dream to become one. But anyways, people that say cheerleading is not a sport dont know how much hard work it takes to be a cheerleader. All the conditioning, the 5-6 hour practices, the money that goes into it and all the responsibilities we have as a cheerleader to balance work and school. We are put through so much, and those people have the nerve to say cheerleading is not a sport. Now thats wrong. ALSO I WISH ALL SCHOOL CHEERLEADERS AND ALL STAR CHEERLEADERS LUCK IN THIS

What people don’t realize is all the work we put in outside of performing and competitions. They don’t see us conditioning or running miles or the 7 hour long practices. It kills me when people say it’s not a sport or all u do is dance around.

Before you say it's not a sport go you have to

1. Do 1 Allstar practice

2. Do Everything in this video including basing and flying and backing

3. Compete in a competition

Sure Football you tackle each other but do bones break if you mess up? NO!! In cheer leading if I am dripped or even misplace my foot when tumbling can finish my ankle or knee. I am an all-star cheerleader who loves what I do and it breaks me to think that ppl believe it isn’t a sport...

Cheer isn’t a sport but chest is these poeple need help we work our butts off we sweat we fall and we get back up we may not always be the sharpest or tightest but we have our bad days and we have our good days I had a boy say cheerleading is not a sport I did my round off three bhs on dead floor he said That’s easy he could barely do the round off and when he went for the first backhandspring he fell back and said I pushed him because he proved me wrong but really I proved him wrong and the teacher didn’t believe him so haha
