I'm driving a Veloce since May and so far I really like it. Yes, it's not a sportscar and doesn't have huge performance numbers. But it still corners a lot better than a lot of its rivals, looks really, really nice in my eyes and has a good size for a small family. Btw, the Hornet is based on the Alfa and not the other way around. The Tonale is already available for quite some time here in Europe.

I have a Guilia QV. One of its best features beyond being a superbly manic sports machine is in N and A mode it drives so smoothly and refined. It’s relaxing.
I’ve been watching the Tonale as a possible replacement for my Prius one day… and Alfas chief executive has said for the last few years their target of driving refinement is Lexus… so good on them. I hope this car finds some buyers!

I have had my Verde Veloce for about 6 weeks now. The word you were looking for to describe the electric mode is sublime. It really is that. I have added very little gas to mine, but have been averaging about 60 to 70 mpg depending on how much I can use the electric. If you run it is "D" mode, it will use electric most of the time unless you call for hard acceleration or the battery reserve is gone. A funny quirk with all of these hybrids is better range in city type driving. I knew it wasn't a sports car when I bought it, but I would consider it a GT. For an everyday driver, it is really nice and it is a car you look back at when you walk away. How many cars these days can you say that about?

Alfa's been making FWD cars for around 30-ish years, it's just that you got none of them, but it always made sure to make them shine. The 1997 Alfa Romeo 156 is especially well-known, as the way the rear suspension is set up through a custom multi-link system, the rear wheels do some of the steering work when going around corners.

Alfa has been sharing platforms ever since it became a private company under Fiat's control, too - the 155, 145, 146, 156, 166, 147, GT, Giulietta 940 and 916 Spider were all built on variations of Fiat platforms, the 159 and Brera were built on a platform meant to be shared with a few GM brands like Opel, Saab and Buick, the MiTo also shares its platform with a few Fiat, Opel and Jeep cars (the Tonale is, in fact, built on an evolution of the MiTo's platform), and the 8C shares its platform and engine (though with notable alterations) with the Maserati GranTurismo and Quattroporte V.

It can step out a bit on exit (see Petrol Ped's and StefAbTV's 2nd take review collab) but you might have to switch off the electronic nannies (hold the DNA selector locked to the right until the top LED turns red).

It's a shame that Stellantis screwed Alfa by giving the Tonale to Dodge in the 11th hour. Hard to justify the $$$$ when the Hornet is essentially the same car (I get the PHEV difference).

Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! Alfa or BMW?

I can't believe they sell the car with "all season" tires. Here in sweden they are like "no season" tires. They suck any time of the year on a car that should be fun to drive. Btw, I'm on my 5th alfa romeo. The first 3 was FWD and they were all lovely cars.

We got our Tonale today and have not figured out how to get heated air to come out of the rear seat air vents. Anyone have an idea?

Honestly, This is a low quality vehicle. I leased it two months ago (July 1, 2024) and I am contacting my dealer, as well as Alfa Customer Service, to negotiate a different car. I had a Guilia previously and the quality was soooo much better.

This vehicle to me, is a total blasphemes. Essentially, it's the marketing guys in Stupidllantis thinking they could sell a Dodge for $20k more by wrapping it with the Alfa brand. Do they seriously think there will be enough people to fall for that trick in the US? Maybe Alfa can increase their sales, through Tonale, in other markets, but in the US? I can't wait to see how the US market punishes Alfa for this stunt.

I came back to this review only to see that you haven't corrected the cliché nonsense at 11:25....too bad
Just picked up a brand new left over 2023 Stelvio Quad in Volcano Black to partner with my 2017 Giulia Quad....now the pair is complete so if Alfa keeps its head up its arse and goes "Electric", I'll have the two last true performance Alfas ever made...

I was chugging along with you dog but at 11:25 you did it....I knew it was too good to be true. You fell into the clueless mindless clutter of "perceived reliability" ....Dog, have you ever owned a BMW, Audi, Porsche, or Merc ? Talk about "uber unreliability dog" ?
FORZA ALFA BABY !!!!
THE KING IS BACK !!!!
Time for MATH CLASS
Porsche + Audi = GLORIFIED VW
Alfa = FERRARI
This is the TRUE LEGACY THAT CANNOT BE DENIED DOG !!!
