Our plan to record a video quickly got interrupted by our cat napper baby. This might be the most unintentionally funny video we made. Trying to keep a baby entertained while holding a conversation is... well, you'll see.

We've been making these casual conversation videos a couple of times a year in between the meatier business strategies and tutorials. Thanks for watching!

oh boy do I feel this. I have a 2.5 year old and an 8 month old while trying to start my watercolor greeting card business on Etsy. I launched the business last October and went full steam on so many aspects of it and I've hit a creative wall this last month. I totally understand that even 'getting help' for an afternoon doesn't just magically unlock creativity to paint and it feels like I'm always thinking about dinner, kid snacks, target runs, laundry... the list goes on and on. You get it. I know this won't last forever, but neither will my kids being little. I feel constantly pulled in 10 directions. I can't tell you how much this video meant to me; hearing even the more established artists have trouble managing it all. Sending you the patience and calm so you can achieve your goals. Always rooting for your family and business!

How precious! Thank you for introducing him to us. Hugs to all of you. Daycare if you can afford it, maybe just mornings. Don't feel guilty. AND you have to discipline yourselves. Your cup is half full and refillable.

I like you mention about other purposes and that having kids gives you that healthy constraint to slow down in life. Some people will try to push through and go even faster but I like your gentle approach! I admire you guys! And I understand the timeline and goal post thing too but thank you for the reminder and putting it in perspective! We are all human not machines and go through different seasons in life.

Great video! I loved seeing your little one, he is absolutely adorable. I remember those crazy times when my kids were little (interruptions, parenting decisions, being thankful for a good nights rest). The years will fly by. Everyone says this and it's so true. Enjoy your time together. 💛

I always appreciate your videos, they're so real and I can tell how much you both genuinely want to help and provide as much as you can to help guide us on our own journeys. <3 Thank you!!!

So relate to what ya'll are going through! My partner and I have kids and he has his full time corporate job and I have my full time artist job...we are always adjusting things to see how we can improve things for our fam and work. Right now we are grateful that we both work from home and can have more time with our kids. But soon we'll be moving so I can have more job opportunities and he's going to try and find a job with less hours. I hope we can make it work...we're always trying to put our fam first but having to make a certain income to afford rent and things makes it tough.

Didn't really hear anything you said. I'm busy watching the baby. He makes me smile.

Couldn't be more realistic, you both are great. Loved the intellectual discussion on how life can truly interfere with our endeavors, be it having children or other responsibilities.
I have my own moments of inertia, I love what I am doing but for now, I am unclear about my next step. I am a developer and one would assume that I can take my work to wherever I go. Well not quite, so... we shall see what I will come up with. I have this desire of using my creativity combined with my technological knowledge.
I never had the time to invest in myself such as put time aside to create some passive income. I mainly ran for other people's growth and neglected my growth. So that's where I stand.
Your courage for making this video gave me hope. Thank you very much, see you at the other end of better days to come :)

Actually, I first found you about your cardmaking journey and how little income this generated, well... I have started my creativity with this cardmaking project. Honestly, I feel like I am stepping back instead of forward. I just don't know how to make my actual business into a good source of income with my creative side from digital onto paper... ?
Doesn't make sense, right?

You guys are doing amazing! You’re not alone in the struggle to figure this all out. It’s really tough and a lot of people just don’t talk about it. 🤍🤍
