Is Ajax's 2018/19 Squad the MOST OVERRATED in Football History?

Hear me out. Ajax’s 2019 run to the Champions League was incredible by all standards.
Just like the Monaco’s run, a lot of young talents emerged, causing a scramble for their signatures all across Europe

But today, it looks like these two achievements do not look the same, at least not from where we stand. Most of the Monaco boys have gone on to prove their mettle everywhere they went, but unfortunately, we cannot say the same for the Ajax ones.

Nearly 6 years after that season, it is looking like all of it was just a big scam.

A lot of players are working under the same manager in man utd, so even in that same system they are not playing well, so I agree that they are overrated

The team itself as a cohesive unit is perfectly rated but the players as individuals turned out to be overrated.

As a Ajax supporter, it was a perfect storm of talent and experience that has been brewing for a while. The 16/17 we made it to the EL-final, with talents like De Ligt, De Jong and vd Beek popping up. When Ajax signed Tadic and Blind, it felt like the pieces were coming together.

I would not say that team was overrated, since we felt we could beat everyone that season. I do grand you that the big names from that team did never live up to their potential. Then again, mostly Barcelona and ManU were poorly run clubs so I don't fully blame the players/Erik ten Hag

Yes Ajax had an excellent run to the semi final that season by Ajax are known to cash in on their youngster

I still remembered how both Ajax and Barcelona fell apart in the semifinals.
At that time, both teams were in contention of winning the Treble. Barcelona had just won the La Liga and were playing in the Copa del Rey Final by the time they were in the semis of the Champions League. Even though Barcelona were heavily reliant on Lionel Messi, they look so dangerous when the GOAT was playing. Even better, most peoples really wanted both teams to face each other in the Final as a huge tribute to the late Johan Cruyff, who was responsible for the birth of "total football" and "tiki taka". And just like Ajax, that night at Anfield (a 0-4 loss to Liverpool, after Barcelona were 3-0 up in the previous match) was also considered to be the main reason of Barcelona's downfall in international stages, along with that infamous 2-8 game vs Bayern Munich and the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the financial troubles.

2018/19 was a great season for Ajax, they won the double (first time since 2001/02) and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League (first time since 1996/97. They did so with a beautiful attacking style with some experiences players and some very talented youngsters. From that memorable team, there is no one still at Ajax: from the starting eleven to the bench players, the staff, the CEO or the Director of Football.

I have recently noticed something and i think Goal 90 should make a vedio on it most of the young talented football players have started their carrer at Portugal domestic football league so I am asking you to make a vedio on how Portuguese clubs such as Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto and Benfica produces so good football talents who went on to become so good footballers.

Yeah they were overrated and now many will not tolerate it specially lockdown kids because now it's been long time these young talents have failed and when other people watching from long time they were slammed or trolled uncessarily by these lockdown kids that these players were better
And now it has type of backfired them and they would say they did not make such statements

Hey lobster, you can't buy a team. You need to grow it. Ajax has its typical 4-3-3 system with wing attackers and possession and therefore players thriving at Ajax not necessarily do so elsewhere.
