Over the past week I have watched many of your videos and have found them to be very helpful. There has been an observable improvement in the quality and content of your productions. I hope you will excuse my presumption, but it has been like watching you personally growing up. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

I'm literally nodding when you say success is not the most important factor to make us persevere, it's really that creative vibe, that excitement we want to experience

I love watching your progress as a filmmaker and sharing your past experience to gain a perspective on the present. Helps me reflect on my own ideas and projects. Brilliant work Simon! :)

Brilliant episode as always Simon! I agree with all your points. All the effort you put into these videos can be easily seen, keep it up!

Just started watching your videos today. I was looking for someone who was learning how to do videos and pass on that knowledge. Somewhat like Dave Dugdale, whom I love, but he has gotten more into technical and gadgets. So your my new goto guy. So keep getting to it, your doing awesome kid! Also, when you get to feeling down about your work, go back to your first videos and remember why you got into filmmaking in the first place. Keep rockin dude!

Ah see what you did there at the end, nice one man. Have watched your videos for a few months now and you've definitely come along way in such a short amount of time. Think the trick is to not get discouraged when things aren't going well and to keep doing what you love doing.

Wow. Thank you for talking about the true inspirational source of motivation here. It's a topic I don't see many people talk about honestly, but really it is the juice behind all we as creatives do, is it not? I really appreciate your vulnerability is this video and throughout this entire series. What a great reminder this is, and especially for me having really begun to get a sense of how the creative spark and inspiration itself is so much more rewarding than say, monetary validation here and there or varying degrees of recognition etc... You are a big source of fuel for my inspiration by your being open and generous in sharing in your successes and failures. <3

I like the creative idea you gave to improve the running documentary with your brother by having a beginner runner be trained by your brother and document that experience. It gave me the idea to document a beginning landlord be trained by me an experienced property manager and document the first hand experiences of this new landlord.

Hey Simon

Just started watching your videos...needless to say that they're so great. But perhaps what I love the most is your frankness and honesty and the confidence with which you communicate what you believe in. I really like what you said in this video regarding the highest moment being a moment of creation. That perfect moment when you, the idea, the world and everything else is perfectly lined up for an "insight"...Keep doing your thing and I'll keep watching.

Agreed with Burnout. I feel it all the time when you just run out of ideas and figure, whats the point!?
But then you get loads and you churn them all out and its all good fun :)

Hey your awesome man! Maybe do a video on trying to achieve or capture a feeling or vibe a director is trying to push in a film.

Very heartfelt video Simon. It felt very sincere. You're obviously a very bright young man and I wish you lots of success! Keep up the good work!

I must say I am glad you continuously keep making these. The amount of work I have done doesn't hold a candle to what you have (do they use that expression in Britain?) and I understand how long each small project takes. Thank you for being such a source of inspiration and motivating me to push myself as a film maker and storyteller.

I really enjoy your channel. As I go deeper and deeper into independent filmmaking, I've found myself watching more and more of your videos. You seem to progress very fast with the technical aspects of filmmaking, which is something a lot of people (myself included) struggle with. I have more background as a writer because I wrote stage plays in high school, and then realized that I prefer telling stories through screenwriting more. There's a great book that can help you formulate your scripts called The Screenwriter's Bible. It has loads of information from developing, writing, and selling your story. It would be great to find someone like you in my area to collaborate with!

Been watching your videos for almost a year, I've learned so much, as I seen your professional growth, more than tips and tutorials, tons of strategy, logistics and motivation to us beginners, thanks for so much knowledge and motivation

Wow.

This is your best video to date: The kind of video aspiring filmmakers NEED to see.

You are a good person, Simon.

Thank you for sharing. These videos are really helping me see where I can make improvements. So, literally, the word Guide fits your description well. You've nailed it. Good job.
