Rare to see such a savage duel on screen but very well done. Plate metal actually completely stopping a sword, no chivalric code saying not to use underhanded tactics, half-swording can't remember ever seeing that shown on screen before.

Is impressive how advanced was plate armor, modern tests show it not only gives great protection, it barely impairs movement as long as you are strong enough to wear it, those medieval artisans knew their craft.

I think the fight was historically accurate except for the half open helms. I know Scott probably did this so we can see the actors faces but he should've just had the fight wo us needing to see facial expressions. Otherwise i thought it well done

You know what? Fine. The whole movie was a bit weird, but if you see it as an excuse to get to this duel of two absolute units of men duking it out in full plate armour just so we can get a taste of what it was like when two plated knights fought, it works. This duel slaps.

I like this duel all in all. I hate the helmets though. Also that sword breaking during the fight seems incredibly unlikely. At this point in history they were quite good at making high quality weapons. Especially for a couple of knights as wealthy as these two. I can forgive that for dramatic purposes. Dope fight all in all though.

The delivering of immobility upon a heavily armored opponent under these circumstances would be the key objective. Feet, ankles, knees, hips. You see their armor becomes an additional hinderance at that point. Can't move = can't fight. Normally, though frowned upon, the crippling of the horse alone usually succeeds in this. There's nothing quite like 2, 000 lbs of horse travelling 40 mph landing on top of its rider to put a crimp in a persons day. If their luck is GOOD, they'll only get a broken leg. If their luck is bad the horse lands directly on them squishing them like a can of tuna. I think the Huns and the Tribal Americans had it right when they utilized the equestrian speed advantage in hit and run offensive projectile activity. Get in. Get out. Don't hang around to have your mount used against you in close quarters.

Да, Карруж - тупой, не образованный, не изысканный, .. рядом с ним его жена не получает того что могло бы ей причитаться по её интеллектуальному уровню и духовным запросам. Но, всё-таки правда восторжествовала. Конечно остаётся догадываться - насколько она хотела близости с Ле Гри, но - сам Ле Гри неправ, - не надо к замужним дамам (к тому же к жене друга) лезть в постель.
When the rondel went down Jacques Le Grie's throat, I rejoiced (the first time I saw the movie). Yes, Carrouge is dumb, uneducated, unsophisticated... next to him, his wife doesn't get what her intellectual level and spiritual needs would warrant. But, after all, the truth has prevailed. Of course, we can only guess how much she wanted intimacy with Le Gry, but Le Gry is wrong - you shouldn't go to bed with married ladies (and a friend's wife).
