New Porsche 991 GT3 (Motorsport)

Here is the new Porsche 911 GT3 with a 3.8 engine which develops 475 hp.

Answer is simple; GT3's mission is simple; get the most amazing lap times possible without overtaxing the driver with an eye at the occasional street use.
The PDK does rip off 2-3 seconds per lap compared to a MT box and maybe 7-8 seconds if you're name is not Walther Rohrl. It makes perfect sense. Plus, FIA GT championship GT3 Cup and RSR cars all use a sequential paddle gearbox in a similar manner.

The GT-R is not a competitor to the GT3, the later coming Turbo and Turbo S are!

Porsche is trying to recreate the feeling of a racing gearbox with the unique PDK created for the new GT3, they claim that it shifts faster than anything else on the market. No manual will be available.

the difference there is that porsche actually is engineering excellence whereas apple just copies ideas of others when it's not successful, makes it marketable and then calls it revolution^^
the porsches price comes together of many things:
- engineering
- exterior and interior quality
- name (of course always^^)
do you know that the nissan is subsidised? if nissan would want the GTR to be more than advertisement and actually make win out of it, it's price would be at 150k€ instead of 94k€

you can't compare the price ... GT3 is a PORSCHE and the GT-R is just a Nissan

A few things:
*the PDK is NOT an automatic, especially this one, which is not the same as in the others 911.
*Porsche did the GT3 with the PDK only because its customers wanted it!!
*Stop talking about the GTR, this TOY-CAR can not be efficient on a track more than 20mns, so don't talk about a track session which last at least 1 or 2 hours: it ruins its tyres, brakes and fuel tank so quick it is funny!
*Porsche has more than 25000 wins in all kind of races, they don't care of stupids comments!

you mean nurburgring? 7:25 in 3 days of testing of the final product without changing anything on the setup and "normal" time trial with 475 naturally aspirated horses against 7:18 in 2 weeks of testing with setup changing on suspension, stabilisation etc. and hara kiri style of time trial with 550 biturbo horses and about 200nm more is not exactly what i would call slower. of course the time is still, but the gt3 corners WAY better, brakes WAY better and top speed is the same.

and dont forget the look of this gt3 is stunning
gt-r is maybe better deal for money but its a bit ugly ... I think and eat heavy i don't like cars that are more than 1500 kg ... when i m traking !!!

only in straight line... around a track, the GT3 is faster

meh looks the same every year, i prefer a dbs
