I wish there was more open world RPGs in the style of ESO. Such an immersive game always draws me back in

I am amazed with this expansion, the fidelity and the consistency not only of the lore but in terms of creating the environment, the themes etc. I am glad ESO finally seems to be reaching its potential.

I’ve been avoiding this game for quite some time because of the hesitation of needing to buy dlc to play it completely. Today I gave it a shot and you can literally spend hundreds of hours on this game without the dlcs if you’re a fan of Skyrim this is basically the online version but with overhaul fighting mechanics

Now that I've dipped my feet in a few other MMO's I gotta say, for all of ESO's faults. I really do have a new appreciation for the voice acting and quests (excluding quest rewards)

I’ve been a huge elder scrolls fan for almost 20 years, and I just bought ESO/also subscribed to their service for the extra content. I’m so excited to bite into this huge chunk of my favorite world.

Eso in my opinion is the closest thing to having a game where you just lose yourself in this world of endless content and that ability to go off the rails and travel where ever is what makes it feel that way.

The worst thing on the game is when a new player like me going to do a dungeon for quest and the other party members rushing the dungeon and there is no time to read quest because you have to catch up all the time with group.
Another big problem trial quests no one is going to take me on hes group because i don't have the expiriance or my gear is bad or there is no group to do this specific trial. I suggest to implement Looking For Raid system like World Of Warcraft for casual players who don't have expiriance or guild to run trials. Really i don't care about trial drops i just wan't to see the story with my character.

Arcanist is easily my fav class in ESO, and not because its new but because it encapsulates exactly what is possible with classes in the elder scrolls universe, the one thing i need now is for them to go back and give a special mechanic to each of the pre existing classes to help flesh them out more to match the arcanist. That and give us pets that can actually contribute to our char in some way besides just aw cute “thing” follows me everywhere

Finally played the arcanist. OP is one word that comes to mind. I have seen nothing but fate carver in dungeons. It uses hardly any magicka and hits like a truck, criting for all damage.

Unless you're in OCE, then it's an "all in one game" (at a bazillion ping)

I just hope the endless dungeon doesn't wind up like Torghast lol.

Wow a single earn-able mount not behind a paywall like 90% of the mounts in the game? Wow.

I just wish they cared enough to give us an oceanic server. Or at least make the PvE playable, but it's depressing to sit there with a 3s delay on every attack.

I can't disagree with people when they say ESO's a mediocre MMO, and a mediocre Elder Scrolls game. It IS both of those things. It's not the best MMO or Elder Scrolls. But the fact that it IS both, is why I enjoy it. I have a hard time getting into most MMOs, they always feel like the kinda game I need to be hunched over a keyboard and mouse, in a dark room at 3am, looking at spreadsheets. ESO, to me, feels more like an Elder Scrolls game, with MMO stuff pasted on top. I still get a similar feeling in ESO, exploring and stuff, that I get in Skyrim or Fallout. I can still sit back and chill without feeling like I should have 5 different spreadsheets open, keeping track of builds and crafting and stuff. I can just play and have a good time.

However, I do wish the game had a more obvious overarching story, even if it didn't have an ending and kept getting added to with expansions. As it is, you get dropped off after the tutorial, and it feels like you just started someone else's save file in Skyrim. You're just immediately thrust into a main quest that feels like it's already been going on for like, 6 hours, and you're left to try and figure out what was happening before you loaded in. And not once does it explain why YOU of all people, are the one person everyone can trust, despite no one ever having seen you before. There's like, zero build-up for your character or any kind of plot. Everything just kinda...happens.

It's a great game, but it's hurt by a couple major things for me. One, being what I just described. The "New Player Experience" kind of sucks to be perfectly honest. Nothing eases the player into the world, or the story/plot, or the characters. It just drops you off right after the tutorial and says "Go!" and bam, you're right in the middle of some big thing, and random side-quests are popping up everywhere, and you're left with very little idea of what to do outside of just doing the next quest your arrow is pointing you towards, and you have no idea who any of these people are that you're doing quests for.

The SECOND issue, is the stupid ESO Subscription. The same nonsense they do in Fallout 76 too. They purposely limit how much storage you have and how much you can build in your home, just for the sole purpose of selling a subscription that raises those limits. And I wouldn't mind that TOO much, if the limit wasn't ridiculously low to the point where I don't even understand how I'm expected to craft anything if I'm not allowed to stockpile crafting resources. A huge part of Elder Scrolls games and big RPGs like this in general, is the crafting, but they make it extra hard to do because you're so limited on how much you can actually save. And EVEN THEN, ESO is a PAID game, not free2play, and not a mobile game. The fact that it's a PAID game, with PAID expansions (and even an absolute ton of paid smaller quest packs and stuff), means I shouldn't have to PAY for a subscription on top of it all, just to not run out of inventory and storage space. Infinite chest storage should just be a given in a paid online game to begin with. And there's no reason the inventory should be limited as much as it is. I'm okay with subscriptions existing, to give a player extra items, bonus currency, exclusive store sales, etc. But a subscription shouldn't make the game WORSE for people that aren't subscribed just to entice people to sub. Hell, I've been considering trying to get the ESO Subscription just for inventory's sake, and I hate it. I shouldn't feel like I HAVE to pay for a $15 /month subscription just to get basic features in a game I paid for already.

I do agree, if you're playing Solo, having a companion's great. Aside from just having the extra DPS with you, it's also just nice having another character making joking sassy comments and things every so often. Even just hopping on your horse, your companion will make a comment. I actually really like how they handled companions in ESO. And I'd definitely be more willing to use 'em in the other Bethesda games if they were more like Ember.
