My God, UK Soaps never debuted like this. Emmerdale (1972-Present) began with a Funeral, Eastenders (1985-Present) debuted with some neighbors checking on a Friend who was passed out dead drunk and on Coronation Street, Elsie Tanner hollered at her Son Dennis for not having any luck in getting a Job who got out of Prison. In The UK it's called Her Majesty's Pleasure.
