'Challenges and Opportunities of Foreign Employment in Post COVID days' Webinar Video.

Due to corona virus pandemic, world has to witness a tremendous pathetic situation with the loss of hundreds of thousands of precious human lives around the world. Loss of employment opportunities are massive creating a real havoc around the world. There is no country unaffected by COVID-19 pandemic in a big or small scale. Nepal, too, is a victim in this regard and increasing number of affected people is a source of real concerns for everyone in the country.

Due to Corona pandemic, we understand that thousands of Nepali migrant workers are affected and they are returning home while yet thousands are working in different countries in the world. Migrant workers send home as remittance more than 800 billion rupees and they comprise about 30 percent of our national GDP. Further, foreign employment is a pillar of our economic diplomacy enunciated and implemented by our Government since 1996.

Center for Diplomacy and Development (CDD), Nepal Policy Instititute (NPI), Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE), & Nepalese Migrants Unity Network (NeMUN), took the stock of the situation in post COVID days and had a Virtual conference with our Embassies in Middle East countries with theme "Challenges and Opportunities of Foreign Employment in Post COVID days" for Nepali migrant workers.
