Why I Got a Yamaha MT-09 (FZ-09)

Last week I picked up a 2014 Yamaha FZ-09 / MT-09. Ever since I rode the FZ-07, I've had an itch to make a naked bike my next purchase. For the past couple months, I've been on the search for the 09 and I finally snagged one. So why did I buy the MT-09 over the MT-07, MT-10, or some other motorcycle? Here's why!

Looking forward to see what you can turn this bike into! I'm sure a lot of the mods are going to be the usual stuff everyone does, like exhaust and indicators, but you tend to always give your bikes a personal touch, which I definitely dig.

I almost bought the FZ9 but tested the triumph street triple Rx 2018 an feel in love. But I'm glad you found what you wanted. First mod should be your Brakes, Then Adjust suspension, Then Two Bros exhaust. Buddy of mine has that same year you have with that exhaust and it sounds amazing. Love your Videos.

You made a good decision ;) I have my 2014 MT-09 for 2 years now and I can tell you it's a great bike. It sounds amazing with an aftermarket exhaust and all the throttle issues went away after the ECU flash. I can't wait to see what you do with it in terms of design. Out of all the modern bikes I’ve tried, the FZ09 is my favorite. It fits me perfectly, and has the perfect amount of power. I want one, so I’ll be watching what you do with yours!

Make sure to keep up on the corrosion prevention, the MT and tracer models at least are well known to rust in certain points. Probably many videos showing spot to look out for, I think the main problem people have had is the swing arm.

The CP3 platform is just amazing. I love my FJ-09 (Tracer). I think about the only thing to really keep a look out for is the cam chain tensioner. Their CCT design was poop, and lots of people have had multiple replacements under warranty. Maybe get a manual tensioner and do a video on the install?
