We did our own excursion in Cannes, France from a cruise ship #enchantmentoftheseas #cruise

We docked in Cannes, France in October of 2023. Cannes is a tender port and the sea was a bit choppy so we were lucky the captain didn't cancel the port for passengers own safety (he had previously cancelled another tender port) maybe the sea is harsher in October. We didn't fancy any of the ship's excursions so we decided to DIY. We were strolling through the harbour when we noticed a Petit Train, we love a Petit Train! A round trip overview of Cannes on the train was around £15pp (a great deal cheaper than any cruise ship tour). We rode through the streets of Cannes (with commentary onboard) passing the famous hotels, the fancy shops, the famous movie theatre and up to the 'Cathedral on the hill' (which otherwise would have been quite the climb). We got out at the top and had some free time to visit the Cathedral inside and also take in the spectacular views over Cannes, and then back to where we started, passing the people of Cannes (for a spot of people watching) along the way, what a great day! #cannes2023 #cannes #france #petittrain #cruise #diyexcursion #travel #cruiseshiptravel
