This is actually a patriotic song of the Scottish Clan mác Gregor, also known as Clan Alpine, and the original set of lyrics is different (Hail to the Chief who in triumph advances / Honoured and blessed be the evergreen pine) etc, and ends with the battle cry of said clan (Roderigh vich Alpine dhu, ho! I-E-Ro!)
