I work for a vending company....
We service around 400 hundred machines.
The average location wants at least 10% commission. Hotels and hospitals want anywhere from 20-30% commission.
Card readers cost $275 plus another $300 for a control board on some machines.
There is a $7.95 monthly fee for every card reader and a 5.95% fee every time you swipe your card thus the .10 cent up charge.
Don't forget the gross receipts sales tax.

I have a vending machine business. While it can be great & all, I call bs on a few areas. With that type of volume you will spend more than 10hrs. Good spots will cost you a commission, if his machines are doing well he will need to be frequent & you aren't accounting for the drive time, purchase stuff, working out any errors, changing prices, ect.. at one point I had over 16 machines. I spent more than 10 hours a week. BTW people shake machines!!! I ended up selling most of the locations because it cost more than "10" hours a week & a lot of work. While yes, you can get machines around that price. They aren't the best. Which is ok they still work quite well & have to take hits from grown men hitting & shaking the machines.

The real business here is selling courses/creating a profitable YouTube channel on bullshit business ideas that are HIGHLY over saturated BECAUSE of people over selling the ease of said bullshit business. The vending business is VERY slow/competitive. As a side hustle it’s never bad. As a main business it’s one of the worst.

As a vendor machine owner
1st yes you pay for the site installed either % or a fixed price.
2nd you can earn as many as the resell price you put on. But you have to refill... So if the products got pricier than last time, then refilling may not give you good earnings. You will adjust but the earnings appears later. And if this thing happens continuously as todays crisis then you may have no earnings at all.
3rd you didn't took account the machine servicing expenses, the employee expenses, the vehicle expenses, and of course the taxation.
For a vending machine filled about 200€ your total earnings if are about 25% then you must be happy.
That's all folks don't believe bs over the internet.
