I like how most these "makes no sense" are things that often do infact make sense. Villagers are hardworking but everything they have is limited to what they can get and they have absolutely no skills besides farming, where as pillagers often work with magic, and taming huge powerful beasts and everything they have is suggested they stole.

Yep trying to find logic in a game where there's a cage that spawns stuff, a box that shoots homing missiles that make you float and a three headed rib cage

Villagers have villages because pillagers pillage and take as they go. Villagers are poor, pillagers are rich. The take loot from villages to add to their own. Thats likely why.

Villagers: have no BIG structures therefore have small houses also villagers I’m not planning attacks on the pillagers and therefore do not need any mapping equipment or somewhere to hold their armory of weapons that’s what they have iron golem‘s for

Pillagers: need to plan attacks on more than one village need to place to hold weapons needs mapping equipment need sleeping quarters needs area for all of the statues they build the list goes on and on that’s why pillagers have a mansion and villagers have “ ugly houses”

Also: water can save you from any height no matter the quantity that explains the full Block and half block

1st one: The village is meant to be more hospitable and homely while the pillagers have the big evil mansion
