Boris Johnson refused to be drawn on the future of Jacob Rees-Mogg after his comments on Grenfell Tower to LBC.

The Prime Minister was exclusively speaking to LBC and taking listeners calls amid claims he was avoiding scrutiny during the election campaign.

When LBC's Nick Ferrari asked, "after his comments to me on Grenfell where is Jacob Rees-Mogg?"

"Jacob is off campaigning," Mr Johnson answered, but would not comment on what he had said to the Conservative MP.

His public appearances on the national stage and in the media of late have been few and far between amid claims he has been sidelined until polling day on December 12.

There is now mounting speculation that he’s been told to keep a low profile since his damaging comments on LBC.

Boris has 3 options when answering.
1 - say JRM will be back and tomorrow the papers are full of his comments over again and the other parties have a talking point.
2 - say JRM won’t be back - leavers are incensed and all the negatives of point 1
3 - don’t answer the question and after the election he can reappoint JRM with no need to worry about the flak as it won’t risk votes.

He made the right call not answering.

It's a tragedy that the stay put advice is the opposite of what common sense would encourage everyone to do, and in this situation, the common sense option would have been the right option.

Johnson should of asked what LBC are going to do about Mogg being on LBC.

I believe Mogg has been vilified in the most apalling way, he never said the residents of Grenfell lacked common sense, but of course it is far easier to manipulate the meaning to suit left wing bias, listen to the transcript, he makes the argument that at some point common sense did not prevail, and he's right, it didn't, but at no time is this directed directly at the residents, indeed it could be argued that the authorities themselves lacked the common sense approach by continuing with the " stay put" message when the building was firmly and considerably ablaze some hour or more after the first appliance arrived, a tragedy indeed, but to misrepresent his words says more about the left wing bias and deep rooted dislike of anything approaching old school sensibilities, and woe betide anyone sounding " posh" ( as they like to remind us time and time again) coupled with the ridiculous chip on the shoulders of those who seek to stop Brexit and the Tory government at any cost. Yes he is well educated, speaks pronounced English, and in any other discussion would be deemed eccentric, but the man definitely does not deserve pariah status, if anything it is he who should be PM ! .... anyone but Swinson and the man in an anorak and a CND badge.

"Recline in feline excellence" Haha. Brilliant!

What happened to Moggy the Mogfather? I stopped paying attention to UK politics when we didn't brexit on October 31st.

Pleasantly surprised Corbyn's Labour, as well as Liberal Democrat were obliterated, but unsure that what's left of the Tory party is any better from Blairate Labour, though.

What happened to Jacob then?

They had put away the guy with character, integrity, and incredible morals cos these are now too much to handle for the avrege Brit?

That’s transparent government.
Don’t get interviewed by hostile interviewers
Don’t answer questions
Get the intellectually challenged to support that behaviour
