Scotty pumping out the videos .... Scotty's bank account... Exploding.😮😮😮😮😮 My 2012 Ram has had a recall on it for years and I get a card every month from the local dealer telling me about the strap around the gas tank. I took care of the problem better than their fix. And I wouldn't let them touch my truck.

Hold on... how is that even possible. I mean i get nissan quality is crap, but those welds are all done robotically. Are they not using adhesive or something? Missing welds has to be an thing...

There is no third party inspection that includes weld inspection. Unless there’s a recall.

I don't know about the newer ones, but my 2012 Nissan Frontier 4x4 crew cab, is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. I've put nothing into this truck except for keeping up with regular maintenance. It may not be fancy, but it does what it should every time I turn the key.

Would an inspection catch missing welds? How would a mechanic know a weld is missing?

Certified Pre-owned means they certify someone else owned it.

How do you miss welds when making a vehicle? Isn't it all automated and everything goes through the same process?

I've seen this guy with the Frontier with the missing weld, crying about his truck all over Facebook . I'm sure it sucks, but it's a one-off occurrence, and Nissan is repairing his truck. All manufacturers have instances like this.

All Certified Pre-Owned means is they checked, and it's NOT NEW. lol

It seems that (not just the auto industry) that once a company has your money warranties are next to worthless. I've had similar issues with 'home owners' warranties. Insurance agencies play a similar game where once you have your premium they will cut any corners they can to avoid paying out claims. Certain types of insurance is unavoidable to have to purchase but in general if you can avoid it on products known to depreciate you'll be better off.

1:30 I bought an extended three year warranty on a 1998 Chrysler. A year later my alternator went out and they not only refused the claim because it was listed as an electrical problem, not mechanical, but then charged me for the visit and to reinstall the alternator that I had not yet given them permission to replace. I had to charge it on a credit card to get my car back from the dealer. Luckily my credit card was stolen the next day and I didn't have to pay it. Warranties are a rip off!!

Scotty's right about new vehicle Dealer mechanics vs their used lot mechanics. Often the used lots are serviced by non-ASE mechanics....not always bad at their jobs, but definitely not the pros either.
