Let's talk about science! Is genealogy a science? Here's what I have to say about it.
Many fields of scientific study are applicable to genealogy research. From Anthropology to Pathology, maybe even a little Zoology, a knowledge of the sciences can help you in your quest to become a better researcher and teacher in our field.

I am a genealogist, myself, and have been working in this field for about 10 years. What began as an obsession, thanks to Who Do You Think You Are?, ended up with me diving head first into my own ancestry. I discovered amazing things previously lost to time, laboured over roadblocks, and came face to face with demons and secrets that broke my heart, eventually leading me to a healing I never knew I needed. I began to reach out and help others, friends at first, find the cyphrer to unlock the code within the blood and remind their souls of former lives.
I am finishing up my BA in Anthropology and going for my masters in American History at SNHU. Even without a degree, I believe that I practice the art of genealogy while using scientific method. I research and distill, dig and unearth, hypothesize and theorize, quantify and record data...if that isn't science then my Intro to Anthro 101 professor was very mistaken and I want my money back. Ha
I enjoy your videos, thanks for being in the world!!

I would say it is a social science like sociology, psychology, political science, etc. History is often included in the social sciences and since genealogy is a type of history you might say it is a social science.
