Woodturning Boring Logs Into Unique Bowl

I have had these Olive wood logs for a while now and have been saving them for something special. This is an amazing wood to turn. Besides for the stunning wood grain, it smells very pleasant and is a joy to work with. A few weeks back my friend Mike Holton posted a video of a bowl he made from Jarrah Burl wood and resin. I loved the shape and just couldn’t get it out of my head when thinking of what to make next. So I asked Mike if he would be okay with me attempting a similar design. He said he would be honored. This is probably my favorite piece I’ve made to date. I really like the unique shape and the contrasting colors of the wood and resin. Unfortunately it is difficult to capture the true beauty of this piece on camera. The resin looks very dark but is actually quite translucent in person. Really lovely finish to a wonderful project I prefer your take on mike's bowl his was good but I think I like yours is better in part because olive is my favourite wood to turn not taking any thing away from mike holton who is a favourite of mine I just think the olive took it look forward to your next video

My Favorite so far. The olive wood is stunning and the epoxy is great. It has a slight UFO vibe--very cool. Maybe in the future you can use metal gray epoxy for the body of a UFO shape then the lid could be a translucent dome. That would be the
