With around $120k invested in Palantir stocks, any suggestions for additional stocks to diversify across various markets? Looking for a well-rounded portfolio that balances risk aversion with returns meeting yearly inflation concerns.

if the 5080 had 20gb or 24gb I would already have one in my computer. But the 16gb vram scares me with 4k gaming. Especially since the 24gb 4090 is already outperforming the 5080 in the most demanding titles. I have a 16gb vram 3080 right now and I am playing some games that eat all 16gb as it is. I don't want to pay $2700 for a new gpu but I think I am going to just for the 32gb of vram.

If 5080 was 24gb I would have gone 5080. But na. They made the diff huge on purpose. 5080ti will for sure have 24gb, I already have 5090. No point. It'll for sure be a solid value.

being able to load a 32B quantized model fully on the card with decent token count, and still be the leader in gaming fps hands down the 5090, nothing compares.

The current prices on the market are basically $3000, which blatant profiteering for the 5090 and the 5080 is basically in the same boat. I wouldn't even bother with either of them. It's not worth it. Almost better to wait for super launches since it looks like product launches are the only times supply is really available, because after that they move on. They aren't really doing anything to address the supply issues once the launch is over. They haven't had a single delay on launching any new lines so they can address supply of existing lines. Hopefully, this changes by this summer where we see remotely reasonable prices and supply. However, with Nvidia's marketing using bad comparisons of supply like that 5 weeks of the 4090 and 1 week of the 4080 on the market are a fair representation of the entire 40 series supply and comparing that to the supply of the 5090, 5080, 5070ti, and the 5070 so they can claim they are providing more 50 series than they did the 40 series tells me they don't really care about addressing the issue. If they really did, they would share when they plan to have more supply based on each individual series, about how much supply they're working towards, when we can expect to see it, and when they expect prices to return to normal. With all the misrepresentation they're doing to cover up their failures, it would be difficult to believe it now. They should have done that instead of trying to pull one over on consumers with the 40 series and 50 series supply comparison. I think consumers would be more accepting of some integrity about the mistake of stopping production of the 40 series just before the holiday season causing the gpu market to dry up just before the 50 series launch, admit they failed to properly launch the 50 series, apologize to consumers for these mistakes, assure consumers they're taking actions to address this with real numbers and dates even if they are just estimates. Trying to cover it all up tells us that they're not really concerned about current state and are more focused on stretching chip and manufacturing resources as thinly as they can than doing anything to address the market problems. In addition to that, with the VIP, I mean priority access being in such small numbers and the first wave was confirmed on reddit by recipients of them that only 4090 owners were offered a chance at these cards tells me that it's an exclusive opportunity for big spenders that replace their cards every series. Even though they marketed it as being "help" for everyone. I have lost all faith in them as a company and I hope consumers at large have as well.

There’s only 5070s and 5080s available in retailers in my country right now; So I’m very much in the fence on whether I should just buy the 5080 now before it’s all gone, or risk waiting for the 5090 to be available in the next few months.

The 5080 is an easy overclock to get past the 4090 in many cases, unless VRAM is an issue (and with DLSS4 it's often not for now).

"If you have the money buy the more expensive one" .... that's a very useless conclusion lol .... people who come to this sort of comparison are in the first place looking for reasons to not spend more than they should

I don't see what the point of either is as the 4K performance seems underwhelming. I would rather have an ARC B580 without having to sell my kidney and just use DLSS in 1440p. A full rig equipped with a 5090 consumes more electricity than the average pool filter. Nvidia does not care about gamers.

PC gaming is like golf. If $ is not good for you, you should stay on console gamin. It’s ok. Buying a budget pc to only play a game with console like graphics is crazy

Well, that would be neither they all have been sent back to NVIDIA for missing ROPS oh and they only built 12 5090s. This was NIVIDA worst launch ever. The worst generational uplift, pitiful built product with missing components and on top of all that a PAPER LAUNCH.
